21 - Point Quality Check
Quality Control Procedures

Action Duplication’s 21-Point Quality Check Process:
At Action Duplication, we take the quality of our products very seriously and we strive to make our products as good as they can be. We work hard so you can be sure that every tape and disc you receive from us is good and of the highest quality possible.
- Only pure 100% virgin optical grade polycarbonate is used in the manufacturing process. No recycled materials are used. The polycarbonate crystals are isolated from potential contamination throughout the manufacturing process in a closed system environment.
- Other materials used, including aluminum, silver alloy, lacquer, and inks are of the highest quality in the optical industry.
- Extensive measures are taken to provide a filtered cooled air system with positive pressure that reduces overall contaminates in the molding and printing area.
- All of our CD and DVD molding lines are self-contained in class 100 cleanroom environments with independent hepa filtration.
- Metal stampers undergo a byte to byte comparison with the original master before passing to molding.
- Every stamper is manufactured with the job’s Master ID in the inner ring, which is molded into every disc.
- Every disc is optically inspected for physical imperfections before it leaves the disc finishing systems. Any disc that is flawed with deformities in the substrate or irregularities in the metalization or spin coating is discarded to a reject spindle and ultimately destroyed.
- Random samples of every job are tested for compliance with all CD and DVD specifications. Typically, at least five discs per job are fully tested.
- One sample per thousand is routinely checked. A Sony DQC-50S Compact Disc Stamper Precision Analyzer, AudioDev SA300 CATS DVD analyzer and Dr Schenk Prometeus Scanner are used and a print out of the test results is retained for every job. If a disc is out of specification, a new stamper is requested and any molded discs from the defective stamper are ultimately destroyed.
- Periodically, we send both replicated discs and stampers to independent testing facilities, including Optical Equipment Manufacturers, Glass Mastering Facilities and other replicators to verify our testing procedures and results.
- We are regularly communicating with internationally recognized experts in the optical industry to improve both our process and testing procedures and to utilize the latest state-of-the-art technology.
- Action Duplication employees are trained to take the utmost pride in the quality of their work. Manual inspection and cross checking takes place at every opportunity in the manufacturing process
- Detailed physical inspection of molded discs are conducted regularly
- Verification of disc’s inner ring Master ID to the spindle Master ID is part of every production process
- Before any printing process is started, verification of Master ID on each spindle is required
- Action Duplication regularly verifies and matches the Master ID between original art files, films, screens and printed CDs is part of every production process
- We always verify print quality, PMS color matching and proof matching before the job is started
- A second verification of inner ring Master ID, spindle ID, and correct printing before packaging
- A physical inspection of every packaged disc is executed before over-wrap, shrink-wrap, and/or boxing
- Every single order is required to go through verification of box counts by weight
- Every single order is required to go through verification to confirm the correct shipping instructions
The result of this rigorous quality control process is a product that is flawless and a client who is completely satisfied with the work we deliver. Our commitment to quality is unmatched in the industry and our processes prove it.
